With Repose, Denis Nanciu extends his investigation into the fluid boundaries between functionality, sculpture, and nature. The piece, crafted entirely from cold-shaped metal, evokes the organic growth of vegetal forms — veins, branches, stems — reinterpreted through the precision of industrial materials.

Here, the artist orchestrates a dialogue between the flowing aesthetic of Art Nouveau and a contemporary rethinking of object design. Decorative graphic and structural elements, inspired by the dynamism of natural growth, transform the functional typology of the chair into a symbolic habitat — a plant that embraces and welcomes the human body.

Beyond its utilitarian appearance, the artwork Repose asserts itself as a living presence within the space. The sculpture is not merely functional; it becomes a site for existential reflection. This approach also resonates with contemporary eco-artistic practices and with the work of designers such as Gaetano Pesce and Nacho Carbonell, where the boundary between natural growth and artistic intervention becomes fluid.
