Theo Nissim
Theo Nissim is an entrepreneur, film producer, and supporter of the creative industries, actively involved in fostering their development. Based in Silicon Valley, Theo Nissim is recognized for his remarkable career in the fields of technology and innovation.
Founded ten years ago, the Conceptual Lab Association by Theo Nissim has become one of the most renowned platforms supporting cultural projects in Romania. The association aims to promote contemporary artists from various cultural fields and to create a meeting space between them and the wider public. Conceptual Lab has hosted numerous cultural and artistic events and has been highly visible on the global cultural scene.
Among its initiatives are the sponsorship of the “Alex. Leo Șerban” Scholarship at the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) and the “Young Hope” Award at the Gopo Awards.
As an associate producer, Theo Nissim has been involved in acclaimed productions such as Three Kilometres to the End of the World, directed by Emanuel Pârvu and winner of the Queer Palm Award at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival; The New Year That Never Was, directed by Bogdan Mureșanu and winner of the Orizzonti Award at the 2024 Venice Film Festival; Sorella di Clausura, directed by Ivana Mladenović, which won the Best Director (Heart of Sarajevo) at the 2025 Sarajevo Film Festival and received an award at the Locarno Film Festival; and the short film The Magician, directed by Bogdan Mureșanu, selected for Annecy, the world’s most prestigious animation festival.
As a co-producer, Theo Nissim also participated in the 2025 Locarno Film Festival with Don’t Let Me Die, the feature debut of director Andrei Epure.
