New Galleries Join RAD Art Fair 2026 as PLATFORM Projects Step Forward
RAD Art Fair Bucharest returns to CARO Bucharest from April 23–26, 2026, with an expanded gallery lineup that reflects the ongoing movement within Romania’s contemporary art ecosystem.
This year, 31 galleries take part in the fair, with over 80% based in six cities across Romania. Beyond the numbers, RAD 2026 is marked by a series of meaningful shifts –– new spaces entering the fair and existing ones stepping into new roles.
Two projects advance from PLATFORM to the GALLERIES sector. Gloriæ continues its trajectory within the fair, while SOLO –– the newly re-envisioned project by Robert Băjenaru, following last year’s participation as Cazul 101 –– enters the main section with a collaborative presentation developed together with Lutnița. These transitions reflect RAD’s commitment to continuity, development, and sustained presence rather than one-off participation.
The GALLERIES sector also welcomes new international perspectives, with Einspach & Czapolai (Budapest) and Tabula Rasa, operating between Beijing and London, joining this year’s edition –– expanding the fair’s international dialogue while remaining grounded in the regional scene.
At the same time, PLATFORM renews itself by opening space for three emerging initiatives: 1M² from Eforie, ETAJ artist-run space from Bucharest, and S.L.S.R.L., a newly established gallery in Bucharest. As part of PLATFORM, these spaces will benefit from the section’s subsidy and mentorship program, designed to support experimentation and early-stage growth.
Together, these movements speak to a fair conceived as a living structure –– one that allows galleries to evolve, reposition themselves, and build long-term trajectories within a shared cultural framework.
