Founded in 2017 by Andreea Stănculeanu, Sector 1 is a contemporary art gallery placing emphasis on the artist’s vision and on the freedom to create.
Dedicated to contributing to the evolution of Romanian contemporary art, the gallery focuses on representing established and emerging artists, as well as the legacy of important Post-avangardist Romanian figures such as Iulian Mereuță or Yvonne Hasan.
In the last two years, the gallery started to work on larger shows, fostering connections between the Romanian and international art scene, while creating an accessible platform for art lovers through artist talks, guided tours and other public events.
