Viewing Room 17 is an initiative that started to take shape in 2021, as a result of the negative consequences of the pandemic on the artistic climate.
Viewing Room 17 is a space outlined from the desire to offer young and talented artists the opportunity of presenting their work in a difficult time for art production and exhibition. The first initial project was an open call for artists under 30 years old. From that moment on, the space began to evolve in a natural and organic way, in the residence and exhibition space that it is today. In the first years of activity, Viewing Room 17 exhibited both figurative and abstract art from up-and-coming artists, as well as works from established artists in the Cluj artistic scene and internationally renowned.
Through the exclusive use of natural light for display, each exhibition is focused on the potential of each artwork to alter the internal narrative depicted from different varieties of light.
Viewing Room 17 is collaborated with artists such as: Marius Ghita, Flavia Lugigan, Mirela Moscu, Szilard Gaspar and Marius Lehene.
